Dr. Birva Shah is a residency-trained optometrist specializing in pediatric optometry, contact lenses and general optometry. Her professional interests include management of strabismus/amblyopia, ocular disease and specialty contact lenses. She provides care to all age groups and special needs. Dr. Shah is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric association She is involved with the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, a collaborative network dedicated to facilitating multi-center clinical research and strabismus, amblyopia and other eye disorders that affect children. Dr. Shah has been, and continues to be, involved with various community outreach programs.
Dr. Joyce Chien graduated from SUNY College of Optometry in New York City and completed a Residency in Primary Care Optometry. She has special interests in medical Optometry and co-management of diseases.
Christopher Banna, O.D. earned his Doctorate from the Ilinois College of Optometry. Dr. Banna is specially trained in all aspects of Optometry. He has a passion for managing and treating glaucoma patients, performing diabetic retinal exams, as well as preventative care for Age Related Macular Degeneration. He sees patients as young as 6 months old and is trained in amblyopic care and myopia control for children.
Attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and and has over 15 years of clinical experience. She has served the community in a variety of settings. Her patients describe her as warm, knowledgeable and thorough. Her clinical interests are eye disease and specialty contact lens fittings. She works with adults and children over five years of age, and is fluent in both English and Russian.
Dr. Kacherova is the newest addition to our team. She graduated with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2012. Her clinical interests include ocular disease with emphasis on glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, macular edema and age related macular degeneration. She works with adults and children over four years of age, and is fluent in both English and Russian.
